  1. What are Internet cookies? HTTP cookies, sometimes known as web cookies or just cookies, are parcels of text sent by a server to a web browser and then sent back unchanged by the browser each time it accesses that server.
  2. What are packets? a formatted block of data carried by a computer network.
  3. What route do packets take over the Internet? simply transmit data as a series of bytes, characters, or bits alone. When data is formatted into a packet, the network can transmit longer messages more efficiently and reliably.
  4. What is a 404 error on the web? an HTTP standard response code indicating that the client was able to communicate with the server, but either the server could not find what was requested, or it was configured not to fulfill the request and not reveal the reason why.
  5. What is 'e-commerce'? exactly analogous to a marketplace on the Internet.
  6. What is the difference between ebay and craigslist? eBay ~ an American Internet company that manages ebay.com, an online auction and shopping website where people and businesses buy and sell goods and services worldwide. Craiglist ~ a centralized network of online urban communities, featuring free classified advertisements (with jobs, internships, housing, personals, for sale/barter/wanted, services, community, gigs and resumes categories) and forums sorted by various topics.
  7. What is SSL? Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), are cryptographic protocols which provide secure communications on the Internet for such things as web browsing, e-mail, Internet faxing, instant messaging and other data transfers.
  8. What are the two major ways for home users to connect to the Internet via a high speed connection?
  9. What is a T-1 line?
